Explore Pho Me, a renowned pho restaurant in Singapore where dishes start at just 6 SGD. Learn about the standout meals and useful information for your visit.

Introduction to Pho Me

If you're a pho lover but hesitant about restaurant prices, Pho Me Vietnamese Beef Noodles is the perfect choice in Singapore. Here, you can enjoy traditional bowls of pho starting at just 6 SGD (approximately 100,000 VND). The food is not only delicious but also very affordable, with all pho dishes priced under 12 SGD.

Located within the bustling Old Airport Road Food Centre, Pho Me is famous for its eight different types of pho, alongside fresh spring rolls that add variety to your meal.

Signature Dishes at Pho Me

The first dish I tried was the Chicken Pho (6 SGD). The bowl was generously filled with rice noodles, shredded chicken, and finely chopped green onions. The broth had a pleasant aroma, a light sweetness, and a good amount of pepper, giving it a subtly spicy flavor. The rice noodles were soft, but the chicken was a bit dry; I believe the restaurant could benefit from serving a bit more meat. While it wasn’t the best pho I’ve ever had, the price point is definitely reasonable.

Next, I decided to try the Braised Beef Pho (8 SGD). This broth was darker and had a distinct sweet aroma from the beef. The broth was thick and rich, quite different from other pho I’ve had before. The beef was tender and sweeter than usual, and when paired with the onions, it created a fantastic flavor. For 8 SGD, this dish was truly worth it.

Tempting Spring Rolls

The Spring Rolls at Pho Me are sold in sets of three for 5 SGD, or you can get them for 4 SGD when ordered with any pho (except the Special Pho and Braised Beef Pho). Each spring roll is made with rice vermicelli, fresh shrimp, and crunchy vegetables wrapped in rice paper, served with a dipping sauce.

However, I encountered a slight issue with the rice paper, as it was quite tough. This might be due to the rice paper not being soaked long enough in water or possibly being stale. This somewhat diminished my dining experience. But the fresh ingredients inside were delightful, and dipping them in the sauce made the flavors more appealing.

Overall Impression

I was very impressed with the dishes at Pho Me Vietnamese Beef Noodles. The reasonable prices and generous portions truly deliver satisfaction, and the food quality rivals that of larger restaurants. I will definitely return to enjoy pho again, especially if you're looking for a tasty meal under 12 SGD. If you have the chance to visit Singapore, don’t miss out on exploring this fantastic eatery!
